When I was at college I was not too bothered about the academic side. That may sound odd but studying PE I tended to spend a lot more time playing sport than reading about them. I also enjoyed all of the social activities and never intended to study hard but just hard enough to pass, which I did. Because of this I did not want to spend a lot of money on text boos and so I found a place where I could rent college books and borrowed all of the rest of the ones that I needed from the library, This saved me a lot of money and means that now I have finished I do not have a load of books hanging round which I will never look at again. I think that the college textbook rental scheme is great for anyone who does not want to hold onto their books and especially for the ones like me who prefer the active side of things rather than the theoretical side.
I have been having to cut down my gym sessions lately and I have really been feeling the difference. I have only stopped one session a week because I am learning some new applicant tracking software for work and I need to dedicate time to it. Normally nothing would get between me and my training but if I do not learn to use the recruiting software I may lose my job. I am noticing that when I do go to the gym I am struggling to do the workout that I normally do because I am missing as session. I am also noticing that I am putting on a bit of weight and feeling more lethargic. It is amazing how much difference this one gym session makes and I will be making sure that I get back to doing it again as soon as I can as I like being fit and healthy. I suppose we all get used to being at a particular fitness level and I am used to having 3 gym sessions a week and being at that level. At least I know that it will not last long and I will be able to get back to normal workouts again soon.

Are unfit and unhealthy people happy? I used to think that I was happy when I was like that but recently I have discovered that I can feel even better. Now that I am fitter and healthier, following a better diet and exercising more I feel so much better. It is interesting how when you are healthier you are happier. I do not mean if you are well you are happy as opposed to being unwell and unhappy. What I mean is that if you are fit and healthy, following a good diet and lifestyle, you tend to be happier as a person. It is interesting that people who start exercising seem to do it more and more because it makes them happier and this is the same for healthy eating. It seems to give you more energy and that gives you more chance of doing more things that you enjoy and therefore making you happier.
It is amazing how much you change your lifestyle when you have a shock. My mother recently had open heart surgery and I realised that if I did not change my lifestyle, there was a risk that I might need it too. I am not perfect but I am so much better than I was and I am sure that I have massively reduced my chances of having the surgery that she had. Years ago before the days of processed food we were limited to what we could have to eat, usually this would be fresh meats, vegetables and fruit all of which likely contained a fair few amount of vitamins.
